Hi!

Who am I?

My name's Alexander Martinelle and I live with my wife in ”Hammarby Sjöstad” in Sweden.

Cogitare Computing is my side project. This spot on the Internet was created to encourage me to display my hobby and job, the development of software applications, to the rest of Internet crawling people out there :o)

Interests and hobbies

I spend a lot of time just relaxing with my wife, watching movies, listening to music, cooking or just chatting.

My preferred movie genre is definitely Sci-Fi, and when it comes to music I almost exclusively listen to what we here in Sweden call ”Synth” (covers among other things a combination of Goth, Industrial, Synth Pop and electronica).

Obviously I have a passion for computers and computer programming. However I unfortunately almost never play computer games any longer. I would love to play computer games again but I wouldn't have time for anything else if I did.

When I'm not caught up with something in front of the computer I also like popping out for a cup of coffee or a cold beer with my friends.

A computer oriented version of my background might go something like this:

My parents bought the family a Commodore 64 in 1987, and I started programming that same year. Kept a keen interest in the ”C64” until around 1998. 1996 I bought myself a LX 386 and in 1997 I bought an Amiga 500+. So it wasn't until somewhere around 1998 that my passion for the C64 subsided and I found a proper place for the ”PC” computer in my life. Since then I've of course tinkered with a whole bunch of different machines, SPARCs, Macintoshes and so on...
